About Jill’s Writings

Born and raised on military bases, Jill Baker served her country as a soldier in the United States Army during the Persian Gulf War era. After graduating from South Dakota State University in 1994, Jill moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she worked in the human service field until she became a wife and mother. While Jill has always interpreted the world through a poetic lens, it has only been since her mother’s death in October of 2013 that she began to blog her reflections on life. Jill likes to describe her writings as “Snapshot Poetry,” emotional, personal, and simplistic in nature.

To live, not hide.
Share laughter, and sorrow.
Love to the fullest, despite risk.
I am imperfect.
I am human.
I am me.

Live.Laugh.Love.

  1. I love the poem on your homepage. Would like to read the rest. I sure miss your Mom. Growing up together for 12 of our formative years and then reconnecting years later was like we had never been seperated. Now I feel a void. Keep up the good work. I look forward to reading more.
