Aside

Father Forgets

You can’t make a man
Act like a father
He has to do that
Of his own free will

No amount of wishing
Praying
Begging
Loving
Stooping

Will change his mind
If he refuses to see
That his child
Is still exactly
What she always was
And always will be

His child
