Lost in Translation

Power struggles often lead to a miscommunication of intent

That beckons the receiver to hear or read one thing yet interpret it differently

From that of the sender in such a way that a molehill

Suddenly becomes an Everest of challenge

In the old days we were forced to confront each other face to face or not at all

But in today’s 24/7 world of texting, posting, emailing, and zooming

Loose fingers can turn mild misunderstandings into

Extreme drama scenes that happen within the mind and cut

Relationships to the quick with the touch of the send button

How quickly the human race has lost touch with being human

And what can we do to get back to a time when

Being in the presence of another was a treasure and not a trial

That gets lost in translation
