I look over at you
As we sit
Side by side
In the car

Smiling
I reach over
Curl my pinkie
Around a couple
Of your fingers

Your fingers tighten
Around mine in response

I’m giving you
A seahorse hug
I say
See how my tail
Is wrapped around your fingers

We giggle
At our private moment
Such a small gesture of affection
Between mother and child
Yet my heart is full
