I walk through the door
Slightly breathless
Mind numbed by
Deep thinking
To find you

Sucking dramatically
On five striped straws
Proving to your dad
Once and for all

That drinking milk
Is quite possibly
The most heinous
Unreasonable request
He has ever asked of you
In your short life

Stressed muscles
Release
My mind
Clears
A smile tickles
the corners of my mouth
